Nova Datacom, LLC, a provider of information assurance and security services to the public and private sectors, announced today that Ronald S. Bearse has been appointed Director of Emergency Management and Continuity Planning and tasked with expanding Nova Datacom’s Business Continuity and Emergency Preparedness (BCEP) practice.
Nova Datacom’s BCEP practice provides both products and services that serve public and private sector entities seeking unified and integrated mission assurance solutions for strengthening their resilience to an ever increasing set of dynamic risks and threats.
Immediate focus areas for Mr. Bearse include Emergency Management and Continuity of Operations (COOP) program development engagements; emergency operations planning: and test, training and exercise activities designed to determine the extent to which an organization’s emergency management plans, policies, procedures, teams, training programs, support systems and facilities are measuring up against increasingly stringent stakeholder expectations.

Prior to joining Nova Datacom, Bearse spent 16 months at the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) as the Director of the Business Continuity of Emergency Preparedness Staff in the Office of the Under Secretary for National Protection and Programs. In previous positions, Bearse served in the national security emergency preparedness community in a variety of challenging analytical, managerial and leadership positions while employed by the US Departments of Defense, Homeland Security (FEMA) and the Treasury.
Mr. Bearse has a BA from the University of Massachusetts and an MPA from The George Washington University. He is also a Distinguished Graduate of the National Defense University’s Industrial College of the Armed Forces (ICAF) and was recently appointed as a Senior Fellow at George Mason University.
Mr. Bearse currently resides in Hyannis, MA with his wife Stella and two sons Christian and Miles.
